Bakhita Health Institute is the faith based Institution that is owned by the Catholic Diocese of Sumbawanga. The Institute was established in 2004 with the main purpose of producing nurses cadres in the region as well as to support the government effort in producing health sector staffs in the health which is under-staffing in the country. The Institute is registered by NACTE with registration number REG/HAS/066. The Institute is also recognized by National Council of technical education, Tanzania Nurses and Midwifery Council and The ministry of Health and Social Welfare.

Diploma Courses

• Diploma in Nursing (Pre Service) 3 Years
• Diploma in Nursing (Distance Learning) 2 Years
• Diploma in Clinical Medicine 3 Years
• Diploma in Medical Laboratory Science (Upgrading) 1 Year
• Diploma in Medical Laboratory Science (Pre Service) 3 Years

Certificate Courses

• Certificate in Nursing and midwifery - 2 years
• Certificate in Medical Laboratory Science - 2 years
• Certificate in clinical Assistance (CA) - 2years
• Basic Technician Certificate in Community Health - 1 Year

* Short Course in Computer Application - 3 Month
